Our U12 Junior Development Program is open to new and returning players born in 2013-2015.
The program is designed for boys and girls still developing their water polo skills, offering a fun and supportive environment to build confidence in the pool. Each session runs through skill-based drills and activities before finishing with gameplay.
Whether your child is completely new to the sport or returning from another term, JDP is a great place to develop their game.
- Dates: 1 May - 26 June (no session 5 June due to long weekend - 8 sessions total)
- Time: 6:30pm – 7:45pm (arrive by 6:15pm for check-in)
- Location: UNSW Aquatic Centre

- Cost: $220 + GST (Active Kids Vouchers accepted)
How To Register:
New JDP players - If your child has never participated in JDP before, please register here as a NEW MEMBER and select: "Junior Development Program Term 2 2026 – $220 (plus GST)". Follow the steps to complete your registration and payment.
Returning JDP players - If your child has participated in JDP before you do not need to re-register. Simply email Sam at unswwests@gmail.com and confirm your interest in participating in JDP Term 2 2026. An invoice will be emailed to you.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1. What if my child has never played water polo before?
No problem! JDP is designed for beginners and returning players alike. Coaches will help new players learn the basics in a fun and supportive environment.
2. What does my child need to bring?
Swimsuit, towel, water bottle, and goggles (optional but recommended). Water polo caps and balls are provided during the session.
3. Can I bring my son/daughter to come a try a session before signing up?
Yes! If you would like to attend a trial before signing up, email Sam (unswwests@gmail.com).
4. What if we miss a session?
No problem, life happens! While we encourage full attendance, missing a week or two is totally okay. Players are always welcome to return the following week.
5. Can I join after the program has started?
Yes! We accept late registrations (pro-rata may apply). Email Sam to find out more (unswwests@gmail.com).
6. Is the program suitable for kids who aren't strong swimmers?
Your child should be confident in deep water and able to swim 200m without stopping. If you’re unsure, feel free to ask us for guidance.
7. How do I use my Active Kids Voucher?
You can use your voucher at checkout if registering online. For returning players, please mention the voucher in your email to Sam (unswwests@gmail.com).
8. Do I need to stay during the session?
Parents/guardians are welcome to watch from the stands, but you're not required to stay.
9. Is there parking?
There is limited street parking on High Street or in the car parks on First Ave E. If the university is particularly busy, you can also park across the street at NIDA. Please note when graduations are happening, parking can be tricky.
