UNSW Student Social League Trimester 1 2026:
Our program is open to all UNSW students who want to play or learn about water polo.
This program is aimed at students who want to play water polo in a relaxed, social environment against other university studnets.
We are open for all playing levels, including beginner and competitive players.
- Friday 27th Feburary - Friday 1st May (Break for Public Holiday Friday 3rd April)
- Time: 12:00pm-1:00pm
- Duration: 8 weeks
- Location: UNSW Aquatic Centre
- Cost: $50 (plus GST) for ARC members

Frequently Asked Questions:
1. What do I need to bring?
Please bring appropriate swimwear, a towel, water bottle and optionally a swim cap or googles.
2. Do I need to pay to enter the pool?
No, please inform the front desk that you are here for water polo and they will let you in. If friends or family come to watch you play they will however will be expected to pay a $2.50 spectator entry fee.
3. I want to be on the same team as my friends, is that possible?
Yes, when registering please list the full names of any other studnets you would like to be teamed up with.
4. What should I expect on the day?
Our program follows a round-robin format where you will play against other teams. Please arrive 20 minutes before your slot to stretch, grab your playing cap and have a 5 minute pool warm up. Each game will last 20 minutes, consiting of 9-minute halves with a 2 minute half-time break in between.
5. Am I expected to set up or pack up equipment?
Yes, if you are the first game of the day you will need to set up the pool by taking the lanes out and placing the goals in. Similarly, if you are in teh last game of the day you will be expected to pack the pool up afterwards.
6. I have never played water polo before, is it okay to join?
Yes, our program is open to players of all playign levels. However, we ask that you are confident in deep water and are comforatbale to swim at least 200m without stopping.
7. How will I recieve information about the program?
When registering you will be asked to provide a phone number that will be addedd to a WhatsApp group chat for the program. Alternativly, you can prefrence contact via email when registering.
8. Can I try a session before signing up?
